The conservation and protection initiative promoted by volunteers from the Grup de Natura Freixe, Flix City Council and the Department of the Environment of the Generalitat de Catalunya in 1993, has allowed us to enjoy one of the most important natural spaces today. of the Terres de l’Ebre. Sebes and the meander of Flix cover an area of more than 250 hectares of open water areas, wetlands, riparian forests, river islands and galaxies. The great diversity of habitats that it hosts makes these natural spaces a relevant point for the conservation of biodiversity, both fauna and flora and vegetation.
Sebes has several walkways and wildlife observatories that allow you to approach and observe birds without altering their habitat. Some of the species present in the reserve are listed as scarce or very rare in Catalonia, or even as endemics.
